CREW & CO – SUPERYACHT CREW RECRUITMENT SOLE CHEF Yacht: 48m Motor Yacht Programme: Private | Potential Future Charter | Med & Caribbean Salary: $8,000 per month Contract: Permanent | 45 days’ leave Start Date: ASAP Gender: Male/Female POSITION OVERVIEW: Crew & Co is delighted to present an excellent opportunity for an experienced Sole Chef to join a well-run 48m private motor yacht with lovely, native-English speaking owners. Currently cruising the Mediterranean with plans to complete a Caribbean season, the yacht primarily operates relaxed family trips with the owners and their two children. The programme also includes occasional events and more formal dining, requiring a Chef who can adapt confidently between approachable family-style food and elevated guest experiences. The yacht may begin chartering in the future, so previous charter experience or the ability to work comfortably at charter pace would be highly advantageous. This position offers an excellent work-life balance, with 45 days’ annual leave and weekends off when the yacht is not operational or preparing for a trip. The owners are described as lovely, and the yacht has a close-knit, mixed-nationality crew with a very positive atmosphere. THE ROLE: The successful candidate will take full responsibility for the galley and provide consistently high-quality meals for the owners, their children, guests and crew. The owners are looking for someone versatile and personable who can create fresh, flavourful and beautifully presented food without overcomplicating everyday dining. The Chef should be equally comfortable producing healthy family meals, children’s dishes, crew food and refined multi-course menus for formal dinners or special occasions. As the Sole Chef, the successful candidate must be organised, proactive and capable of independently managing menu planning, provisioning, budgeting, dietary requirements, food safety and the overall operation of the galley. REQUIREMENTS: Proven experience as a Sole Chef aboard similar-sized private and/or charter yachts Recognised culinary training or substantial equivalent professional experience Strong provisioning, budgeting and inventory-management skills Excellent food-safety and galley-hygiene knowledge Valid STCW, ENG1 and Food Hygiene certification Valid Passport & Required Visas B1B2 Visa (ideally) Excellent, verifiable references Male/female candidates APPLY: If you would like to be considered for this opportunity, please apply with your most recent CV, food portfolio and sample menus, confirming your current location, availability and relevant visas.
