(MMS) is a dedicated, MLC certified, marine and offshore crewing company whose focus is to add value to the ship or asset owner through successful and cost-effective management of marine resources. MMS’s main focuses are offshore crewing, personnel recruitment, and project support. SUMMARY: Works in the engine room and is responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and repairing all engines and machinery. Responsibilities FPSO Turritella Essential Functions: Maintaining and repairing vessel mechanical equipment and systems and ER equipment under Marine Engine Supervisor supervision. Inspecting and maintaining portable power tools. Gauging ER tanks. Ensuring that allocated mechanical maintenance and repair work is carried out safely, efficiently, and according to procedure and that the supervisor is made aware of all activities, especially where safety is an issue. Duties/Responsibilities: Carrying out the correct isolation and disconnection procedures. Using correct procedures and correct method of dismantling. Identifying potential sources of hazard prior to dismantling. Identifying, checking, and preparing components. Applying appropriate tests and test equipment to ensure reassembly is correct and effective. Adjusting instruments to meet the operating specifications. Monitoring and recording what has been carried out in work history or log book. Adjusting with minimum disruption to any ongoing activities and minimum waste of resources. Responding promptly to problems according to approved procedures. Keeping the work area within own responsibility clean and free of hazards Raising alarms as appropriate and acting upon them using applied policies and procedures or initiative. Reporting all potential and actual incidents to the relevant supervisor. Carrying out Emergency Response role. Carrying out any lawful command and delegated duty as issued by the Chief Engineer, Master, Second Engineer, or delegated OOW. Qualifications Certification: Required: Must hold a valid USCG MMC with a minimum of a QMED license Engine Room Ratings Forming Part of an Engineering Watch (III/4) Able Seafarer- Engine (III/5) Basic Safety Training (VI/1) Valid USCG 719k Med Cert (STCW) Valid TWIC Card Preferred: Vessel Personnel with Designated Security Duties/Security Awareness (VI/6) Tanker Assist (V/1-1-1 Basic Oil and Chemical Tanker Operations- Tankerman Assist / PIC-DL ) Passport IADC Rig Pass / SafeGulf equivalent T-HUET (or better) *All qualified candidates must submit the above required documents with their application in order to be reviewed for the position* Education and Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent [G.E.D.] Minimum of 2 years sea time in rank as a Watchkeeping Engine Room rating on Offshore Vessels Proven experience or qualified as apprentice or journeyman in mechanical engineering or local equivalent. May be exposed to odors, dust, dirt, mechanical hazards, high noise levels and potentially dangerous equipment. Must be able to crouch and stoop to g et into areas with restricted headroom and be able to climb ladders. Meet the USCG 719K physical standard.
