THE ROLE The Purser will play an integral role in the yacht’s administration, financial management, crew operations and charter support, working closely with the Captain, Heads of Department, management company and shore-based representatives. This is a senior administrative position requiring someone who can confidently manage the demands of a large private/charter programme. The successful candidate must be highly organised, financially competent and capable of managing multiple priorities with accuracy, discretion and composure. Responsibilities will include: Managing the yacht’s day-to-day administration Maintaining crew records, certification and employment documentation Coordinating crew travel, visas, medicals and joining arrangements Supporting recruitment, onboarding and crew departures Managing payroll information, leave schedules and rotation planning Preparing and monitoring departmental and operational budgets Processing invoices, expenses, purchase orders and credit-card reconciliations Maintaining accurate onboard accounts and financial records Supporting charter accounts, APA expenditure and post-charter reconciliation Coordinating guest clearances, customs, immigration and itinerary logistics Liaising with the Captain, management company, charter brokers and shore-based representatives Assisting with audits, flag-state requirements and compliance documentation Maintaining strict confidentiality across all financial, owner, guest and crew matters Supporting Heads of Department and ensuring effective communication throughout the yacht Providing clear and accurate reporting to the Captain and management THE IDEAL CANDIDATE The successful candidate must be an established Purser with proven experience onboard large motor yachts. This is not suitable for someone seeking their first Purser position or stepping up without relevant experience at this level. We are seeking someone who is: Proven in a Purser position onboard larger motor yachts Experienced within structured, high-standard yacht programmes Able to demonstrate strong longevity in previous positions Ideally experienced onboard busy private/charter yachts Confident managing complex crew, financial and operational administration Experienced with yacht accounting, budgeting and financial reconciliation Familiar with charter accounts and APA administration Highly organised, accurate and detail-oriented Calm and capable when managing competing priorities Discreet and professional when handling sensitive information Confident communicating with Captains, management, brokers and Heads of Department Personable, approachable and supportive toward crew Proactive, solutions-focused and able to work independently Looking for a long-term position within a stable programme Strong references and a demonstrable record of commitment are essential. Candidates should be able to provide clear examples of their responsibilities, systems knowledge and contribution within previous programmes.
