About this role

Take command as Master on a bulk carrier trading worldwide with OSM Thome. Lead a safe, efficient vessel operation, guide your crew, and ensure smooth voyages across global routes.

Key responsibilities

Overall command of the vessel, crew and cargo
Ensure safe navigation, watchkeeping and compliance with COLREGs
Maintain high standards of safety, security and pollution prevention
Oversee cargo operations, stability, ballast and draft
Lead and motivate officers and crew; conduct drills and training
Ensure proper documentation and compliance with company and flag state rules
Liaise with charterers, agents, terminals and port authorities

Requirements

Valid Master Mariner (Unlimited) CoC
Strong bulk carrier experience as Master or Chief Officer
Valid STCW certificates and medical fitness
Good knowledge of ISM Code, ISPS and MARPOL
Good English communication skills
Proven leadership, decision-making and ship-handling skills
