Rank: 2nd Engineer (2/E) · Vessel: Tanker - Crude Oil

OSM Thome is looking for an experienced 2nd Engineer (2/E) to serve on crude oil tankers trading worldwide. You will work closely with the Chief Engineer and engine team to keep all machinery running safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities:
Assist Chief Engineer in day-to-day management of the engine department
Operate, monitor and maintain main engine, auxiliaries and related systems
Plan and carry out routine maintenance and repairs as per PMS
Supervise engine room ratings and ensure safe working practices
Maintain correct engine room records, logs and reports
Support bunkering, fuel treatment and engine performance checks
Ensure compliance with company, flag state and class requirements

Requirements:
Valid STCW III/2 2nd Engineer CoC for seagoing vessels
Crude oil tanker experience in rank or as 3/E on similar vessels
Valid tanker (oil) endorsement and STCW safety certificates
Good knowledge of engine room operations and planned maintenance systems
Fit for duty with valid medical certificate and seaman’s book
Good English communication skills
