Work Arrangement: Hybrid What You'll Do: Responsible for operating at the intersection of technical innovation and cross-functional enablement, combining hands-on experimentation with prototyping, emerging tools, and AI pattern development, while contributing to portfolio-level strategy and decisions across the Energy and Shipping portfolio. The role also leads a multidisciplinary team based in C.A., requiring deep expertise across the full software development lifecycle and a strong emphasis on fostering cross-functional collaboration and sustained alignment with business objectives. Responsibilities Key Responsibilities: Conduct analysis and provide input across the innovation lifecycle, including idea scanning, validation, and development of reusable patterns and infrastructure. Establish and maintain an AI workbench comprising sandboxed environments, prompt libraries, evaluation frameworks, and pre-integrated LLM tooling; identify and implement actions to improve workflows, streamline operational and reporting procedures, and elevate performance standards. Leverage enterprise AI platforms — including AWS AI/ML services, Snowflake Intelligence, and similar tools — to accelerate pattern development and deployment. Plan and manage projects in partnership with the Product Lead, Product Managers, and Project Managers, ensuring all necessary steps are taken to meet project goals and milestones. Conduct internal process discovery to identify workflows that are strong candidates for AI augmentation and provide recommendations for prioritization. Build and maintain strong relationships with the Innovation & AI Lead and Engineering Lead to define and leverage technical approaches including RAG pipelines, agentic workflows, and evaluation loops. Monitor foundation model releases, emerging tools, and competitor developments, translating findings into concise briefs for leadership. Define and enforce AI governance standards, including evaluation criteria, hallucination mitigation strategies, data privacy requirements, and experiment-to-production checklists. Lead a multidisciplinary C.A.-based team operating within a matrixed organization, providing direction, support, and coaching to enable individual and team success. Qualifications Education & Credentials: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, business or a related field; or a combination of post high school and experience equal to nine (9) years. Experience: 5 – 10 years of experience contributing and leading development initiatives following modern SDLC practices. 2+ years of hands-on experience with LLM APIs, orchestration frameworks, prompt engineering, and RAG architecture. Technical Proficiencies: Full AI delivery lifecycle fluency: from experimentation through production, including build vs. buy trade-offs. Proficiency in cloud AI/ML services, including AWS SageMaker, Bedrock, or equivalent Azure/GCP platforms. Data platform literacy, including Snowflake, dbt, or similar modern data stack tooling. Proficiency in Python or equivalent primary language for AI/ML workloads; working knowledge of API design and microservices architecture. Experience with DevOps/MLOps practices including CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and model deployment patterns. Knowledge of LLM orchestration frameworks Familiarity with AI governance frameworks, responsible AI principles, and enterprise data privacy and security practices. Fluent in both business and technology; able to bridge technical teams and executive stakeholders effectively. Competencies: Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, including conveying technical information to technical and non-technical users. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal/external business partners. Ability to mentor, coach, train and/or supervise employees. Ability to synthesize research and emerging tech into concise decision briefs.
