OSM Thome is looking for an experienced Electro Technical Officer (ETO) to join a bulk carrier trading worldwide. If you are confident with shipboard power systems and enjoy working closely with deck and engine teams, this could be the right berth for you.

Key responsibilities

Operate, maintain and repair all electrical and electronic equipment on board, including power generation and distribution systems
Monitor and troubleshoot automation, control, navigation and communication systems
Carry out planned maintenance for electrical and electronic systems in line with company and manufacturer instructions
Support safe and efficient cargo and engine operations from the electrical and automation side
Ensure compliance with safety procedures, class and flag requirements for all electrical installations
Assist in drills and contribute to the vessel’s safety management and reporting

Requirements

Valid Electro Technical Officer (ETO) CoC meeting STCW requirements
Previous experience as ETO on bulk carriers or similar vessel type
Up-to-date STCW mandatory training and valid medical certificate
Strong hands-on skills in troubleshooting electrical and electronic systems
Good English communication skills and ability to work in a mixed-nationality crew
