CREW & CO – SUPERYACHT CREW RECRUITMENT DECKHAND | MEDICAL, PHYSIOTHERAPY OR SPORTS MASSAGE BACKGROUND Yacht: 85m+ Motor Yacht Programme: Private & Charter, World Cruising Salary: DOE Rotation: 3:1 Start Date: September 2026 Current Location: Europe Gender: MALE OR FEMALE Visa: Valid B1/B2 required POSITION OVERVIEW: Crew & Co is delighted to present a unique opportunity for an experienced Deckhand with an additional background in emergency medicine, physiotherapy, sports massage or a closely related health and wellness discipline. The yacht operates a busy and dynamic private and charter programme with owner usage and substantial charters, as well as an exciting worldwide itinerary ahead. This is a highly active yacht with exceptionally health-conscious owners and a crew culture centred around fitness, watersports and outdoor activities. The onboard gym is extremely well equipped, and crew are encouraged to enjoy the yacht’s facilities and water toys whenever operationally possible. The charter programme offers significant additional earning potential, with a strong history of exceptional tips. THE ROLE: The successful candidate will be employed as a fully integrated member of the deck team, supporting all aspects of exterior operations, maintenance, tender activities, watersports and guest trips. Alongside their deck responsibilities, they should offer a credible secondary skill set within one of the following areas: Paramedic or advanced emergency medical care Emergency trauma response Physiotherapy or sports rehabilitation Sports massage or soft-tissue therap Personal training with rehabilitation experience Another relevant clinical, medical or health-focused discipline Candidates are not expected to hold every qualification listed. The yacht is open to considering different profiles depending on the individual’s overall deck experience, personality and professional background. For candidates applying from a medical pathway, the yacht would ideally like a qualified Paramedic or someone with advanced emergency and trauma-care experience. The individual must be capable of responding calmly and effectively to medical situations, maintaining medical preparedness and supporting both crew and guests when required. Candidates with physiotherapy, rehabilitation or sports-massage qualifications will also be strongly considered due to the owners’ focus on health, fitness and physical wellbeing. This is not an interior Nurse/Steward position. The individual must genuinely enjoy working on deck and be comfortable with the physical and operational responsibilities of the department. THE IDEAL CANDIDATE: An established Deckhand with previous professional yacht experience Qualified within medicine, physiotherapy, sports massage, rehabilitation or a related discipline Personable, friendly and approachable Calm and reassuring, with an excellent bedside manner Sensitive and professional when assisting crew or guests with personal medical concerns Discreet and confident working around high-profile owners and guests Physically fit and genuinely interested in health and wellbeing Comfortable supporting an active watersports and guest programme Adaptable and able to move confidently between deck and specialist responsibilities Positive, sociable and respectful of crew etiquette Looking for longevity within a well-established programme RESPONSIBILITIES: Supporting daily deck operations and exterior maintenance Maintaining consistently high presentation standards Assisting with anchoring, mooring and line-handling operations Supporting tender, water-toy and guest activities Assisting during extended private trips and busy charters Providing medical, physiotherapy or sports-massage support within the limits of professional qualifications Helping maintain relevant equipment, supplies and records Supporting emergency drills and onboard safety procedures where appropriately qualified Treating all medical and personal information with complete discretion Contributing positively to the yacht’s active and close-knit crew culture REQUIREMENTS: Previous professional Deckhand experience Recognised qualification or substantial experience within a relevant medical, therapeutic or wellness discipline Valid STCW and ENG1 Valid B1/B2 visa Fluent English Strong, verifiable references Male (due to cabins) APPLY : If you would like to be considered, please apply with your most recent CV and include full details of your medical, physiotherapy, sports-massage, rehabilitation or related qualifications.
