Work Arrangement: Hybrid What You'll Do: Responsible for providing management engineering support with the maintenance, repair and modification of ships, boats and related support equipment. Responsibilities Key Responsibilities: Assist with the development of budgets and schedules, contractor selection, quality assurance and contract management while continually interfacing with regulatory agencies, design groups and shipyards. Prepare, develop and evaluate specifications and bid packages. Monitor repairs or new construction actions when carrying out repair activity. Make sure all applicable regulatory documentation for vessels are kept current and periodic inspections are accomplished. Ensure in-house and third-party inspections, repairs, maintenance and record keeping is performed on a regular basis. Assist management with system designs of both new construction and modifications of existing vessels. Manage the company ISO policy, vessel operating manual, as well as ensure the ABS rules are within guidelines. Qualifications Education & Credentials: Bachelor's degree in marine engineering or a related field; or a combination of post-high school and equal experience may be substituted for education. Experience: 5 or more years’ experience sailing on commercial vessels and an understanding of Marine Operations, or equivalent experience in a shipyard or related maritime field. Technical Skills: Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Outlook and Word. Other: May require a US Coast Guard Licensed engineer. Competencies: Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal/external business partners. Ability to function effectively with, or as part of a team. Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously while meeting assigned deadlines. Ability to demonstrate effective customer service skills. Ability to perform accurately in a detail-oriented environment. Ability to gather, interpret, report, and use data and other information concerning assigned activities. Ability to prepare clear and concise documents, including, but not limited to reports, procedures, correspondences and other written materials. Knowledge of applicable computer applications and basic computer functions. Working Conditions: Works both inside an office environment and also outside in conditions of both high and low temperatures. May be exposed to odors, dust, dirt, mechanical hazards, high noise levels and potentially dangerous equipment. Must be able to crouch and stoop to get into areas with restricted headroom and be able to climb ladders. May require extended use of computer keyboard and viewing of computer monitor and ability to sit for long periods of time. What We Offer?
