Set sail as 2nd Engineer on a bulk carrier with OSM Thome, trading worldwide. Be part of a solid engine room team, keeping the vessel safe, reliable, and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

Assist Chief Engineer with safe and efficient operation of main engine and auxiliaries
Carry out planned and unplanned maintenance on engine room and deck machinery
Monitor and record engine and machinery performance, pressures, temperatures, and fuel/oil consumption
Operate and maintain purifiers, boilers, compressors, pumps, and steering gear
Ensure safe engine room watchkeeping and respond to alarms and emergencies
Follow company procedures on safety, environmental protection, and pollution prevention
Keep engine room clean, tidy, and in good working order

Requirements

Valid 2nd Engineer (Motor) license, compliant with STCW
Experience as 2/E on bulk carriers preferred
Valid STCW basic and advanced safety certificates
Valid medical fitness certificate and seaman’s book
Good spoken and written English
Strong safety mindset and hands-on maintenance skills
Team player, able to work in a mixed-nationality crew
