JOB TITLE: Restaurant Manager
DEPARTMENT: Management
REPORTS TO: General Manager
POSITION PURPOSE:
The Restaurant Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing Front of House operations to ensure exceptional guest experience, high service standards, and efficient daily execution. This role supports the overall daily operations of the restaurant by driving strong staff performance, creating a positive workplace culture, and maintaining company standards and compliance. The Restaurant Manager leads the Front of House team and collaborates with Back of House operations to ensure seamless service, while supporting operational efficiency and profitability.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Supervise Front of House staff to ensure exceptional guest service and adherence to company standards
2. Deliver exceptional customer service and resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally
3. Monitor service quality and dining room flow to ensure an efficient and positive guest experience
4. Maintain a visible presence on the floor to support staff and enhance the guest experience
5. Manage daily restaurant operations to ensure smooth and efficient service
6. Assign and monitor Front of House tasks including opening, running, and closing side work
7. Monitor opening and closing procedures, cash handling, shift coverage, and completion of all assigned duties
8. Adjust staffing levels as necessary based on business needs
9. Evaluate staff performance and provide coaching, training, and development
10. Ensure all service standards, cleanliness, organization, and presentation expectations are consistently met
11. Ensure compliance with health, safety, food handling, and sanitation regulations
12. Work closely with kitchen leadership to ensure food quality and timely service
13. Communicate operational updates, challenges, and results to the General Manager
14. Perform all other duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
1. Previous management experience with a strong emphasis on customer service and team leadership
2. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a restaurant or hospitality leadership role
3. Must be ServeSafe Certified
4. Strong knowledge of Front of House operations and service standards
5. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
6. Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
7. Ability to lead, coach, and develop team members
8. Strong communication and organizational skills
9. Ability to make independent decisions and prioritize responsibilities
10. Ability to collaborate with both Front and Back of House teams
11. Must have a flexible schedule to include working nights, weekends, and holidays as operations necessitate
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
1. Must be able to independently lift, carry, push, and pull up to fifteen (15) pounds
2. Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include nights, weekends, and holidays as operations necessitate
3. Must be able to operate general computer equipment including laptop, keyboard, and mouse with ease
