MBG Production Manager

Position Summary: 

The Production Manager ensures manufacturing processes run reliably and efficiently, assesses project and resource requirements, and supervises the work of direct reports. The Production Manager is responsible for leading their teams to successfully achieve safety, quality, cost, and delivery goals. They are also responsible for planning and coordinating work activities to achieve production success.

 

Responsibilities/Duties:

• Manage and supervise the day-to-day operations.
• Planning and organizing production schedules. Coordinate product movement and scheduling.
• Ensure that the staff can meet production goals in terms of timing and quality.
• Accountable for production operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
• Provide leadership, focus, direction, and coordination to Group Leaders, Team Leaders, and production employees.
• Determines quality control standards by collaborating with quality department and other managers.
• Collaborate with engineering team to support LSS continuous improvement projects.
• Collaborate with engineering team to ensure products are laminated to the necessary specifications.
• Ownership of metrics – safety, quality, cost, & delivery.
• Estimates, negotiates, and agrees to budgets and timescales with vendors and management.
• Continue moving toward becoming a lean manufacturer and maintaining single piece flow throughout departments.
• Maintains standards of health and safety, hygiene, housekeeping, and security in the work environment.
• Understands hazardous materials and the proper and safe handling of such ensuring all proper policies and procedures are followed.
• Manage waste disposal to ensure the safety of our facility, minimizing excess resin & material usage.
• Responsible for ownership of safety culture, incident investigation, root cause and corrective action.
• Ensure that safe working conditions and housekeeping of the department is maintained, continuously looking for ways to improve the current state.
• Organizes the repair and routine maintenance of production equipment.
• Capable of conducting interviews and staffing the departments, training new employees to ensure that production goals are met and quality products are being pulled forward.
• Monitors staff performance and progress. Holds all individuals, including him/herself, accountable to deliver results and satisfy internal and external customers.
• Developing Group and Team leaders to create a culture of communication and collaboration.
• Continue to look for new ways to improve quality, efficiency, and safety.
• Explores options for internal and external activities having impacts on the department and/or business.
• Obtain and maintain a thorough knowledge of all Maverick-brand products.
• Makes sound decisions using facts and data that are in the best interest of Maverick.
• Shows initiative, courage, integrity, and bases decisions on what is best for the company, not the individual.
• Stay informed on the latest industry techniques and methods.
• All other duties as required.
