Chris-Craft, a leader in luxury boat manufacturing, is seeking an experience Upholstery Sewer, for our Upholstery department, to ensure the highest standards of craftsmanship and quality in our world-renowned boats. What You’ll Do:
You'll perform all aspects of sewing associated with production of various boat model types of cushions, v-berth beds, etc. May include pattern cutting.
Responsibilities:
- Able to read and understand work instructions
- Able to meet production deadlines and stay on task
- Able to maintain sewing machine
- Know how to change needle, bobbin and adjust machine tension, etc.
- Learn all boat part names and how to read travelers
- Learn all colors of vinyl and threads
- Learn to sew flat pieces and comforters using double top stitch, single top stitch and zippers
- Learn how to sew all boat parts
- Learn how to repair sewn covers
- Willingness to cross-train and learn other areas with a good attitude
- Other duties as assigned
What you Bring:
- Minimum 1 year sewing experience with upholstery
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Manual dexterity
- Basic knowledge of hand tools
- Attention to details, deadline oriented and organized
- Basic math skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good attendance and good attitude needed
Physical Requirements: Including, but not limited to:
- climbing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, lifting up to 50 lbs. stretching, squatting and bending.
- May work on knees, seated, laying down, standing up.
- May require individual to be in awkward positions.
