Outboard Marine Mechanic

Job Summary
We’re looking for an experienced outboard marine mechanic to diagnose, repair, and service outboard engines and related marine systems. Ideal candidates are certified (Honda, Suzuki, Yamaha, or equivalent) and comfortable working on a wide range of makes and models.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair outboard engines (2-stroke and 4-stroke)
Perform routine maintenance, winterization, and seasonal service
Install, replace, and test components including fuel systems, ignition, cooling, lower units, and electrical systems
Conduct water testing and quality checks after repairs
Maintain accurate service records and communicate findings with customers and the service team
Follow manufacturer service procedures and shop safety standards
Requirements
Proven experience as an outboard or marine mechanic
Certification in one or more major outboard brands (Honda, Suzuki, Yamaha preferred)
Strong diagnostic and mechanical skills
Ability to use diagnostic tools, service manuals, and shop software
Valid driver’s license and ability to work in a fast-paced shop environment
Good communication and customer service skills
Preferred
Experience with Evinrude, Mercury, or other major brands
Familiarity with electronics, gauges, and modern engine management systems
Own tools or willingness to build a professional tool set
This is a full-time shop position with a mix of in-house repairs and occasional on-water testing. Competitive pay based on experience and certifications.
