Hodgdon Yachts — family owned and operated since 1816, building and servicing world-class custom yachts and superyacht tenders across the Boothbay region of Maine. We're hiring a Marine Finish Carpenter / Boat Builder to construct, repair and install interior and exterior marine woodwork — custom cabinetry, bulkheads, decking and trim in teak, mahogany and composites — with fine finishing. Proven marine carpentry/boatbuilding experience required.

We are hiring a Marine Finish Carpenter / Boat Builder in Southport, ME. In this role you will prep, fair, sand, and mask surfaces for finishing, and contribute to our team’s quality and success.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Prep, fair, sand, and mask surfaces for finishing
- Spray primers, gelcoat, and high-build marine finishes
- Mix coatings to specification (e.g., Awlgrip)
- Buff and detail to a flawless, high-gloss finish
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
- Marine or automotive paint/finishing experience
- Awlgrip or linear-polyurethane experience strongly preferred
- Skilled with HVLP/spray equipment and fairing
- Comfortable with respirator and PPE
COMPENSATION
Estimated market range $45,000 to $72,000/year (about $22 to $35/hour), depending on experience.
