Job Description: Quality Manager
Warbird Marine Holdings — Invincible & Yellowfin
Position Summary
Warbird Marine Holdings, the parent company of the Invincible and Yellowfin boat brands, is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Quality Manager to lead quality assurance and quality control across the manufacturing process for both brands' center console saltwater fishing boats — ensuring every boat meets Warbird Marine's standards for craftsmanship, durability, performance, safety, and customer satisfaction while upholding each brand's distinct specifications. The role partners closely with production, engineering, purchasing, and service teams across both brands to resolve quality issues, drive corrective action, and build a culture of continuous improvement, and calls for strong leadership, a hands-on approach to problem-solving, and experience in manufacturing quality systems, preferably in the marine or boatbuilding industry.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Assurance & Control
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality control procedures and inspection standards across the Invincible and Yellowfin manufacturing processes.
- Establish and enforce quality checkpoints across components, assembly, critical systems (electrical, plumbing, fuel), rigging, finishing, and final inspection, maintaining accurate records for traceability.
- Perform routine production audits and inspections to identify defects and drive corrective action.
- Oversee the Sea Trial team's on-water testing, inspection, and record-keeping process for all boats prior to delivery.
Production Support & Process Improvement
- Partner with production and engineering leaders across both brands to identify root causes of quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Monitor recurring defects, rework, scrap, and warranty trends to drive continuous improvement and reduce waste.
- Develop standardized work procedures and inspection checklists, and set measurable quality objectives by brand and company-wide.
Final Inspection & Customer Satisfaction
- Oversee final quality inspections and resolve outstanding concerns with production and service teams before boats are released for delivery.
- Investigate customer complaints, field issues, and warranty claims to determine root causes and prevent recurrence, protecting the Invincible and Yellowfin brands.
Leadership & Accountability
- Lead, train, and develop quality inspectors and other quality-control personnel at both facilities.
- Maintain a visible, hands-on presence on the production floor to identify and resolve issues in real time.
- Communicate quality performance, corrective actions, and improvement opportunities to Warbird Marine leadership, and establish clear accountability for quality across the organization.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in quality assurance, quality control, or manufacturing operations; supervisory or management experience preferred.
- Experience in marine manufacturing or a comparable manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of inspection processes, defect prevention, root cause analysis, and corrective action systems, with experience developing SOPs and quality documentation.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, build specifications, and work instructions.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively across multiple production facilities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, 5S, or ISO 9001 quality principles.
- 10+ years of experience in quality assurance, quality control, or manufacturing operations; supervisory or management experience preferred.
- Knowledge of U.S. Coast Guard requirements, ABYC standards, and fiberglass/composite construction, lamination, rigging, and final assembly processes.
- Experience managing warranty analysis, nonconformance reporting, and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) programs across multiple brands or production sites.
