Work Arrangement: Why Join Crowley: Responsibilities What You'll Do: Responsible for all pricing decisions including rate levels, tariff filings to insure regulatory compliance, conference interactions, and the negotiation and execution of all bids and contracts. Key Responsibilities: Advise, implement, and manage pricing strategies to accomplish the strategic directives of the business unit. Implement pricing methodologies and work processes. Interfaces with Operations, Sales, and Finance. Serve as company representative at vendor evaluations, sales calls, conferences, and committee meetings. Has authority to make decisions on tariffs, rates, and rules within guidelines. Activities are centered on pricing and rate negotiations for specific commodities and trade lanes. Pricing policy decisions and the determination of the pricing structure are usually referred to higher authority. Responsible for creating profitable and competitive rates. Ensures regulatory compliance in tariff and contract filing's. Reviews costs and other marketing data to develop rate and contract offerings. Keeps various departments (such as freight services and sales) informed of all pricing matters. Responsible for payments of deferred discounts and other VIP clauses in contracts. Overall business unit responsibility for maintenance of tariffs and compliance with regulatory issues. Direct negotiation of contracts or proposals with customers or Sales Reps. Qualifications Education & Credentials: High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree preferred, with transportation/logistics major a plus. Experience: 5 - 10 years industry experience, preferably in pricing environment. Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Access, Excel and PowerPoint.
