Work Arrangement: Hybrid Why Work for Crowley: At Crowley, you'll play a critical role in keeping global trade moving by ensuring the compliant and efficient movement of international shipments. As a Logistics Specialist, you'll serve as a key link between customers, customs authorities, and logistics partners, helping to resolve complex transportation challenges, support customs compliance, and deliver exceptional service. This role offers the opportunity to make a direct impact on supply chain success while building expertise in international logistics, customs brokerage, and global trade operations. What You'll Do: Responsible for administering efficient and economical movement of cargo; resolving cargo transportation needs and/or processing documentation within established deadlines. Support the customs brokerage process by ensuring compliance with import regulations and facilitating the smooth clearance of goods. Responsibilities Key Responsibilities: Prepare and file customs documents for shipment clearance, including import declarations and supporting paperwork. Assist in ensuring shipments meet all customs laws and regulations. Liaise with customs authorities, clients, and logistics partners to update on shipment status and resolve compliance issues. Address disputes, discrepancies, or delays in cargo transportation and coordinate solutions with clients and authorities. Collect, maintain, and organize necessary documentation for audits or client reference. Monitor and trace the status of shipments to ensure timely delivery and compliance. Support with complex transactions and answer customs-related queries. Manage tasks involving the movement of goods in accordance with organizational policies. Ensure invoices are accurate is in accordance to the physical shipment and customer/other regulatory requirements. Review proposals and make recommendations and/or modifications in rates as needed. Ensure compliance with all U.S. regulatory agencies. Serve as a liaison with customer by keeping them updated on the status of cargo being transported. Prepare, review, approve and maintain files for import/export documents. Determine cargo classifications according to tariff specifications. May be required to interpret, review and apply appropriate rates to bills of lading based on applicable tariffs timely and accurately while staying compliant with the rules and regulations. Qualifications Education & Credentials: High school diploma or equivalent, with course work after high school and/or job-related training preferred. Experience: 2 – 5 years’ experience working within customs brokerage transportation/logistics with knowledge of ocean/air documents, customs forms and regulations preferred. Bilingual (English/Spanish) required Technical Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Outlook and Word. Magaya experience preferred. What We Offer?
