What You’ll Do • Test, verify, and troubleshoot shipboard electrical systems to ensure proper operation across all phases of construction. • Perform phoning, circuit continuity verification, and functional testing of power and lighting systems. • Operate and interpret results from electrical test equipment, including voltmeters, ammeters, ohmmeters, megohmmeters, power analyzers, and other diagnostic tools. • Test and validate high‑voltage systems including 480V and 4160V power distribution equipment. • Inspect, troubleshoot, and verify the functionality of motor controls, transformers, power panels, switchboards, and PLC‑based control systems. • Support testing of electronic and fiber‑optic systems such as radar, sonar, communications, propulsion, and navigation equipment. • Read and interpret marine blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals to ensure accurate testing procedures. • Work in active shipyard environments involving heights, confined spaces, and variable conditions. • Follow safety procedures that meet — and often exceed — industry standards. Electrician Test specialists are critical to validating the ship’s readiness, reliability, and long‑term performance across the globe. What You Bring • Proven experience testing and troubleshooting shipboard or industrial electrical systems • Ability to read and interpret schematics, drawings, and wiring diagrams • Strong working knowledge of electrical diagnostic equipment and safe testing practices • Reliability, teamwork, and commitment to high‑quality craftsmanship • Familiarity with both standard and metric measurement systems Must Have Minimum 4 years of experience in the marine, shipyard, or industrial electrical field. High School Diploma or Equivalent. Ability to read and interpret marine drawings and/or blueprints utilizing both metric and standard measurements. Nice to Have • Strong working knowledge of electrical test equipment, including: – Voltmeters – Ammeters – Ohmmeters – Power analyzers – Megohmmeters – Other diagnostic equipment • Experience working with 480V and 4160V electrical systems. • Knowledge of motor controls, power panels, transformers, PLCs, and switchboards.
