Summary: The Facilities Electrical Mechanic is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment that support company buildings and facility infrastructure. This role supports lighting, power distribution, and facility-owned equipment. The Facilities Electrical Mechanic ensures all work is performed safely, reliably, and in compliance with applicable electrical codes and company standards. Responsibilities: Electrical Maintenance & Repairs- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair facility electrical systems, including lighting, panels, circuits, outlets, switches, motors, and controls.
- Diagnose electrical issues using meters, test equipment, and schematics.
- Replace or repair wiring, conduits, breakers, fixtures, and electrical components as needed.
- Perform electrical work on facility support equipment and infrastructure.
- Preventive Maintenance & Inspections
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on facility electrical systems.
- Identify potential hazards, code issues, or system deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
- Assist in maintaining electrical maintenance schedules and records.
Facilities Support & Projects
- Support facility renovation, expansion, and improvement projects requiring electrical work.
- Coordinate with Facilities, Maintenance, Safety, and Engineering teams as needed.
- Assist with equipment installations, relocations, and upgrades.
Safety, Compliance & Documentation
- Follow all company safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, and OSHA regulations.
- Perform work in compliance with applicable electrical codes (NEC) and local regulations.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area at all times.
- Accurately document completed work, inspections, and repairs.
Requirements: Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring methods, and electrical safety practices.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams, schematics, and manuals.
- Proficiency with electrical testing and diagnostic tools.
- Ability to work independently and respond to facility electrical issues as needed.
- Strong attention to safety and compliance standards.
- 3+ years of experience in electrical maintenance, industrial facilities, or commercial electrical work.
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial facilities environment.
- Knowledge of building automation systems (BAS) or HVAC controls.
- Familiarity with motor controls, VFDs, or basic PLC-related electrical work.
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems.
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial facilities environment.
- Licensed electrician or electrical mechanic certification (where applicable).
- OSHA safety training and familiarity with lockout/tagout procedures.
- OSHA safety training and lockout/tagout experience.
- Work performed indoors and outdoors depending on facility needs.
- Requires standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and climbing ladders or lifts.
- Ability to lift and carry tools, equipment, and materials.
- Exposure to electrical hazards, noise, and industrial environments.
- Use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
