REQUIRED :
- U.S Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Drug test and Background Check
- Associate's Degree or 2 Year Technical Degree
- +6 year relevant experience
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Excel, and Word
- Willing to travel to Naval Bases
PREFERRED :
- Knowledge of U.S Navy electrical arrangements and cableways
- Knowledge of ship design and blueprint reading
DESCRIPTION :
Designs components or portions of systems and modifies existing designs to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations. Utilizes computer-aided design equipment and/or graphic tools such as, CAD, CAM or CATIA. Gathers information, makes studies, computes calculations, and prepares original rough layouts, sketches to present design proposal. Coordinates design criteria with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, material, and planning group such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials, and contractual specifications. Exclude classifications in which incumbents predominantly perform drafting assignments. Applicant will be directly involved in electrical design and development of drawings associated with ship modification and overhauls. Applicant will be responsible for following applicable drawings procedures and standards. Applicant will also be responsible for locating, interpreting and applying government and vendor-furnished information and technical data into during development of functional electrical design drawings. Travel to numerous Naval Bases will be required to support pier side ship checking and surveys.
