DNY Painter II

We are seeking an experienced Marine Painter to join our team at Derecktor Shipyard in Mamaroneck, NY.   The individuals will perform surface preparation and painting of marine vessels. We’re seeking marine painters with experience in commercial applications who will sand, fair, prime and paint vessel of all types.

Responsibilities:

• Must have experience in commercial application
• Wash, scrape, sand and fair interior and exterior surfaces
• Apply finish coats of paint/varnish by hand, brush and spray systems
• Tape or otherwise protect surrounding surfaces such as decks, hardware, windows during work process
• Operate compressors, sand blasters, spray systems
• Follow specific mixing and application processes
• Clean equipment and maintain safe, tidy work area
• Work as a team member and communicate effectively
• Follow regulatory guidelines and safety standards
