About this role

Rank: Chief Officer (C/O) · Vessel: Bulkcarrier

Set sail as Chief Officer on a bulk carrier trading worldwide with OSM Thome. Take a key role on board, supporting the Master and leading deck operations to ensure safe and efficient voyages.

Key responsibilities

Assist the Master in safe navigation and ship handling
Plan and supervise cargo operations, stability and ballast
Lead and manage the deck crew and watchkeeping duties
Ensure safe work practices and compliance with company and international regulations
Oversee deck maintenance and upkeep of safety and firefighting equipment
Monitor ISM/ISPS compliance and support audits and drills

Requirements

Valid Chief Officer / Chief Mate license (unlimited)
Recent experience as C/O or 2/O on bulk carriers
Valid STCW certificates and medical fitness
Good English communication skills
Strong leadership, safety mindset and teamwork attitude
Candidate must be experienced Chief Officer in Bulk Carrier vessel equipped with cranes
Must have valid documents including STCW, SID, Seamans book, PPT
