Join OSM Thome as Chief Engineer on a bulk carrier trading worldwide. Lead the engine department, keep all machinery running safely and efficiently, and support safe, reliable vessel operations across global trade routes.

Key responsibilities

Oversee, operate and maintain all engine room and auxiliary machinery
Plan and supervise maintenance, repairs and inspections
Manage engine room crew, work schedules and safety procedures
Monitor fuel and lube oil consumption and ordering
Ensure compliance with class, flag, company and environmental rules
Maintain engine room records, reports and documentation
Support bridge team for safe and economical vessel operation

Requirements

Valid Chief Engineer license (unlimited) suitable for bulk carriers
Sea service experience as C/E or strong 1/E background on bulk carriers
Good knowledge of main engine, auxiliaries and ship systems
Up-to-date STCW certificates and valid medical
Strong leadership, communication and safety mindset
Good English, spoken and written
