Summary
The Business Operations Associate supports the department with various tasks, including communications and documentation control, reporting responsibilities, project coordination and analysis, and internal process improvements.
Associates act directly in support of an internal lead for the projects they are assigned to and often support ad hoc requests and issue resolution at the lead’s direction. Associates are expected to be good communicators, collaborators, and coordinators as they will often need to support different functional groups during project execution. The valuable insight and experience learned supporting these projects at the entry level is a direct path into Business Analyst or Program Management roles and responsibilities.
Core Responsibilities
- Collation and compilation of information and data for reporting deliverables
- Preparation, issuance, and maintenance of project documentation and communications
- Maintenance and distribution of action item lists, trackers, and other team support as required
- Documenting existing business practices and training materials, recommending optimization improvements, and presenting potential solutions to stakeholders
- Supporting stakeholders in training and adoption of standardized processes, tools, systems, and optimizations as relevant
- Ad hoc analysis and one-off projects may be assigned based on specific department needs

Qualifications
- Required
- High school diploma required.
- College degree or maritime academy required.
- Intermediate or expert level with Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Proficient in typing and data-entry skills, with the ability to quickly learn different web-based computer programs.
- Ability to work with other professionals, within and outside of the company in a professional and respectful manner
- Experience with developing and managing project-based plans, budgets, and reports
- Solid foundation in basic arithmetic, percentages, and formulas to run analysis-based calculations
- Preferred
- At least 1 year of relevant work experience preferred.
- Experience in defense industry or consulting background
- Experience utilizing data visualization/reporting tools to develop reports and run analysis, (OTBI, PowerBI, Tableau, etc)
- Experience with database querying methodologies
- Experience with Microsoft Teams, Visio, Power Automate, and Dynamics 365
- Familiarity with User Experience and/or User Interface design concepts
- Familiarity with developing process or training documents
- Familiarity with Scheduling/Planning software and tools (Oracle Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, etc.)
Employment Requirements
- Can work in the US.
- Ability to gain U.S. Security Clearance.
- Undergo and pass a drug screening and background check.
