JOB TITLE: Application Specialist, Marina Management Services (MMS)

DEPARTMENT: Information Technology

REPORTS TO: Lead, MMS

 

POSITION PURPOSE:

The Applications Specialist, Marina Management Services (MMS) helps to ensure the systems that support the Company’s marina operations are reliable, practical, and ready to scale as the Company grows. This position supports MMS and related operating platforms from implementation through ongoing operations, including system configuration, data migration, testing, user support, training, and continuous improvement. Working across marina teams, Home Office departments, IT, and technology vendors, this role turns business needs into clear system requirements and helps deliver solutions that work in day-to-day operations. The Application Specialist, MMS offers hands-on learning across marina operations, technology, integrations, data, and project delivery, with opportunities to build both business and technical expertise. Through this work, the Application Specialist, MMS helps integrate acquired marinas, improve how teams work, and create a more consistent experience for team members and customers across the portfolio.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. System Implementations

o Support migration efforts in transitioning acquired marinas from Legacy MMS systems to the Suntex integrated solution

o Work on all aspects of implementations including but not limited to data migration, system configuration, end user training, and initial data entry/loading

2. System Enhancements and Integrations

o Work closely with technology vendor(s), IT MMS, IT Data and Analytics, and IT Financial Services teams to expand and improve system functionality and processes

o Partner with business users to define functional requirements and test scenarios

o Develop, coordinate, and execute system and end user testing for new features, system changes, integrations, and version releases before they are approved for production

o Partner with change management to aid in end user training, communications, and adoption

3. Help Desk Support

o Responsible for application software (MMS) support desk, including Legacy MMS solutions and the integrated solution

o Work closely with IT Financial Services and Accounting to troubleshoot accounting issues related to MMS integration

o Create and add tickets for all end users that reach out through alternative methods like text, phone, and/or Teams

o Ensure application tickets are followed through to issue resolution and customer satisfaction

o Act as an escalation resource for application related issues from the IT Service Desk

4. Serve as liaison between end users, business partners, IT, and external software vendors regarding system changes, enhancements, defects, and process improvements

o Translate business needs into clear functional requirements and communicate priorities and expected outcomes to vendors

o Track vendor commitments and escalate issue resolution, ensuring updates are shared with affected stakeholders in a clear and timely manner

5. All other duties as assigned

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

1. Associates degree in information systems, business operations, or a related field, or equivalent experience is required

2. One to three (1-3) years’ experience with application configuration, data migration, user acceptance testing, requirements documentation, and troubleshooting business system integrations is required

3. Experience with Marina Management Systems or reservation and/or POS software is preferred

4. Must have excellent computer literacy

5. Must have experience using Copilot to assist in completing tasks

6. Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills

7. Must be capable of working in a team environment to achieve team, department, and Company goals

8. Must be able to interact with others in an honest, fair, and respectful way, giving others confidence in one’s intentions and those of the organization

9. Must have the ability to develop and sustain productive internal customer relationships, actively seeking information to understand and address business needs

10. Must be comfortable presenting to both business and technical audiences

11. Must be a self-starter and adaptable to a fast-paced environment

12. Must have the ability to effectively adjust to major changes in work tasks or the work environment

13. Must have a basic knowledge of project management software

14. Must be able to gather, analyze, and document business requirements, functional requirements, workflows, and system impacts in a way that can be understood by both business stakeholders and technical teams

15. Must have the ability to operate independently, manage ambiguity, and own outcomes

16. Industry experience in maritime, real estate, hospitality, or asset-heavy, multi-unit operating environments is preferred

 

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. Must be able to independently lift, carry, push, and pull up to fifteen (15) pounds on occasion

2. This individual is located in an office environment generally seated at a desk with a chair for multiple hours or may spend most of the workday on their feet if on-site and traveling to a marina location

3. Must be able to swim or willing to wear a personal flotation device when visiting marina site locations

4. Must be able to travel on occasion

5. Must be able to successfully complete a background check as the individual is required to be deemed insurable and operate a vehicle on behalf of the Company

6. Must be able to work weeknights, weekends, and holidays as needed on a rotating on-call schedule
