Job description:
Yellowfin Yachts is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accountant with a strong focus on Accounts Payable to join our Finance team. This position is responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices, maintaining financial records, supporting month-end close activities, and assisting with general accounting functions. The ideal candidate is dependable, analytical, and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key responsibilities:
- Process vendor invoices accurately and efficiently while ensuring proper approvals and coding.
- Match purchase orders, receiving documents, and invoices (three-way match).
- Prepare weekly payment runs via ACH, wire transfers, and checks.
- Maintain vendor records, including W-9s and banking information.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Respond to vendor inquiries professionally and build positive working relationships.
- Monitor outstanding invoices to ensure timely payment and maximize available discounts.
- Assist with annual 1099 preparation and reporting
- Prepare and post journal entries
- Reconcile general ledger accounts, including bank and credit card accounts
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes
- Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation
- Support internal and external audits by providing requested documentation
- Assist with fixed asset tracking and reconciliations
- Help ensure compliance with company policies, GAAP, and internal controls
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiencies
Additional Responsibilities:
- Support inventory and manufacturing accounting functions as needed
- Assist with budgeting and financial reporting
- Cross-train within the Finance department to provide backup support
- Perform other accounting and finance duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Accounting required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
- 3–5 years of accounting experience required
- Minimum of 2 years of Accounts Payable experience
- Manufacturing or inventory accounting experience preferred.
- Experience with ERP systems preferred.
- Microsoft Excel proficiency, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.

- Strong understanding of accounting principles and accounts payable processes.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

- Ability to maintain confidentiality of financial information.
- Team-oriented with a positive, customer-service mindset.
Compensation:
Market rate dependent upon experience and qualifications.
