About this role

Rank: 2nd Engineer (2/E) · Vessel: Tanker - VLCC

Join OSM Thome as 2nd Engineer on board a VLCC tanker trading worldwide. You will be a key officer in the engine room team, ensuring safe, reliable and efficient operation of all machinery and systems on board.

Key responsibilities:
Assist the Chief Engineer in daily engine room operations and maintenance
Monitor, operate and troubleshoot main engine, auxiliaries and related systems
Plan and carry out preventive and corrective maintenance as per PMS
Keep engine room logs, records and reports up to date
Ensure safe working practices and compliance with company and international regulations
Support bunkering, fuel change-over and pollution prevention procedures

Requirements:
Valid 2nd Engineer (III/2) CoC, preferably with tanker/VLCC experience
Valid STCW certificates, medical and seaman’s documents as per international standards
Good knowledge of engine room operations, maintenance and safety procedures
Previous experience on tankers is an advantage
Good English communication skills and a strong safety mindset
