PAY : $48 - $49 / hour
PER DIEM : $180 - $188
LOCATION : Pascagoula, MS

DESCRIPTION :
First-Class Pipefitter, also referred to as a Journeyman Pipefitter, is responsible for fitting pipe consisting of various materials such as steel, galvanized, copper, copper-nickel, and stainless along with the appropriate valves and fittings, utilizing various tools and equipment in accordance with drawing, arrangements, and blueprints. Shipyard production areas at times involve working at different heights, in confined spaces, in different weather conditions as well as multiple shifts 24 hours a day. As with almost every position in the shipyard, a Pipefitter may be required to work either day or night depending upon the number of ships under construction at any one point in time. Ingalls stresses the practice of working safely in all situations with safety procedures meeting, and most times, exceeding industry standards.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS :
Must be a U.S Citizen or Permanent Resident
Must be able to pass a hair follicle drug test and background check
Minimum 4 years of trade experience
Basic math, reading and comprehension skills
Knowledge of the layout, fit-up, fabrication and installation of pipe, flanges and valves
Read and interpret trade drawings and/or blueprints utilizing both metric and standard measurements
PREFERRED DISCIPLINES :
6 Yrs. marine, shipbuilding and construction experience
Familiarity with fit-up, alignment tolerances and advanced blue print reading skills
