About this gig
Need some help here with a 2025 Yamaha F150XD.
This is a new motor that's given me fits the whole time I've owned it.
Few months ago got water into the gas tank. Water got past the external and internal fuel water separator filters and into the VST. The tach gauge showed the water indicator and there was an audible alarm coming from the motor. Took it to the shop. In addition to the indicator on the gauge, the symptom was a rough run and inability to get past 4400 RPMs.
Pumped out all of the gas and found root cause of water getting into tank (pin hole in top of tank). Fixed that. Gas tank now holds pressure and shows no sign of leaks.
After getting boat back from shop, engine would run smooth up to 6000/6100 RPMs and will turn 43 MPH WOT.
Couple of weeks ago, got the 3rd tank of gas since repairs. Engine had been great to that point. Half way through the 3rd tank, engine started "to run a little rough" again at low RPM / idle speed (800-1000 RPM). Only something the owner would likely notice, not awful. Shortly after noticing, starts to get worse once coming up to operating temperature. Beginning of the trip, runs smooth WOT gets 6000 RPM. After 10 mins or so, performance degrades where WOT gets to 5100-5200 RPMs.
