How gigs work
Post services and requests for free. Quote and apply for free. Transaction fees are a flat 6% (3% each side), waived for first-time buyers and sellers. An optional $49 Featured boost is for placement only.
Hiring help
- Post a request or browse services for free. Quoting and applying cost nothing (free accounts: one open application at a time; Advanced unlocks more).
- Find a gigster offering the service, or post a request and get quotes.
- Select a seller and book. Flat 6% platform fee (3% buyer + 3% seller). Your first paid order as a buyer has the buyer fee waived. Payment is held until you approve the work (not escrow, not a quality guarantee).
- You choose the seller and confirm licenses and insurance yourself.
- Message the gigster on BoatJobBoard to plan the work.
- When the job is delivered, approve it to release payment, or open a dispute if something is wrong.
- Leave a review so the next boater knows who to call.
Offering your services
- Create a free profile and set up payouts with Stripe. You own your tax reporting and any licenses the work needs.
- List a service or send quotes for free. Agreeing to the seller terms is required. An optional $49 Featured boost is visibility only, not a publish fee.
- Get booked. The buyer's payment is held before you start so funds are there when the job is done.
- Do the work and mark it delivered. You own the quality and safety of that work.
- Get paid when the buyer approves, or automatically 72 hours after delivery with no dispute. Seller fee is 3% after your first paid order (first order as seller is fee-free).
